I Can't Pick One!

Today’s RTW question from YA Highway: What was the best book you read in September?

Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar ChildrenThe Girl of Fire and Thorns

I have to admit—it’s been one of those busy months where I’m reading nonstop. Currently I’m in the middle of three different books and two manuscripts. Yep, crazy! But, two of the books I’m enjoying right now are The Girl of Fire and Thorns by Rae Carson (should be included in everyone’s fantasy reading list!) and Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs (so creative!). I don’t know which will become my favorite for the month—so let’s just say it’s a tie TBD later! Has anyone read both books yet?

  1. I just finished Miss Peregrine's--definitely an incredibly creative (and somewhat creepy) book.

  2. I was so close to picking up Miss Peregrine this weekend, but I don't know if I can handle the creep. The cover brings on The Shining nightmares as is.

I've been hearing a lot lately about The Girl of Fire and Thorns, but somehow it flew under my radar for a while. Your "should be included in everyone's fantasy reading list" is enough for me to go pick it up though!

  3. You know, I read some great reviews of The Girl of Fire and Thorns, and it's on my to-be-read list, though I can't remember what the story's about anymore. Since you say it's a must-read, I'll have to check it out soon.

  7. I guess I have to pick up Miss Peregrine's next. It's the one I keep reading about today! I awarded you a Liebster Award over on my blog today at www.unavoidableawkwardness.blogspot.com :)

  8. Haven't read either one, but as a photographer I love the concept of working vintage photos into a narrative.
